While I have not received any formal training, I have brief experience with laser cutting. I am capable of basic design preparation, material setup, assembly, and operating the laser cutter to create precise cuts on paper materials. If I get the chance to work with a laser cutter again, I hope to experiment with engravings on more materials such as wood and acrylic.

This project above was my first experience with laser cutting, where I reformatted an existing template to work with the laser cutter. Below is the final version of the project, where I customized the template further to take the form of shoes. I created multiple variations of different sizes to create a scaled-down paper sculpture that serves as an informative and artistic structure about the waste that shoes can generate.

While the project above, "trash talk", was hand-cut to meet project requirements, I designed and prepared the file in Illustrator to be compatible with precision laser cutting.
